How to Win That Interview: Part 3 – Keywords To Consider Using In Your Resume
The world has changed with technology, and everything is getting faster. In this digital world, recruitment has also changed. Employers and recruiters get bombarded with resumes from their online presence. Be sure to make a good first impression and make sure your resume stands out.
Keywords are important therefore you need to include these within the text of your resume so that it increases the likelihood of surviving the initial screening.
- Use the right job titles that match what you are applying for – e.g., you can express your interest in the role, and follow this up with evidence to prove you’ve got the necessary experience and skills from your previous roles.
- Mirror the language used in the ideal job you wish to be considered for.
- Become familiar with industry phrasing and buzzwords especially if you have not worked in Australia long.
Avoid clichés such as hard-working, team player ‘communication’ or ‘people skills’, ‘self-motivated’, and ‘results driven.’
